I use paint to create narrative abstractions, combining structure with presence, and finding meaning that exists through the process of making.
I use geometry to honour complexity, and the grid to ground my work in the present. The paintings are slow paintings. The work takes time to make, and sets a stage where time can unfold. Colour integrates with overlapping forms across a rhythmic composition, resulting in a sometimes fractured, but often harmonious moment of intimacy.
Patterns within the paintings evolve to explore everyday experience. It requires unhurried attention. A painting’s surface is built incrementally. Forms overlap, appear, disappear, transform, vibrate, or sit in stillness, but nothing remains fixed.
All is in flux.
